Before you buy quick answers
I've never burned resin. Will I get this wrong?

Probably once, and that is fine. Light a coal at the edge until it sparks across, wait two minutes for the grey ash, then put one tear on it. Overloading is the only common mistake and it just means more smoke than you wanted. I send the whole method in writing before it arrives.

Is it too strong for a small flat?

Not if you use the mica. Laid over the coal it warms the resin instead of burning it, so you get the scent with almost no smoke. One tear is genuinely all a small room needs. It holds for an hour or two, then it lets go.

How much do I need for one evening?

One tear. Two if the room is large. Almost everyone reaches for a handful the first time and opens a window five minutes later. Start with one, wait, and add another only if you want more.

Is Boswellia sacra being over-harvested?

In places, yes. Overtapped by some, ignored by most. A tree cut too often stops giving good resin, and in the end stops giving any. We buy straight from the families who tap the trees in Dhofar, with nobody in between. I cannot show you a certificate for that. I can tell you I have stood under those trees.

Where does it ship from, and what will I pay at the door?

From Olsztyn in Poland, and it leaves the next working day. Poland in one or two working days, Germany and Czechia in two to four, the Netherlands in three to five, the rest of the EU in two to eight, the UK in three to five. You Might Be Wondering

Yes. Every order includes a simple guide. Light charcoal outdoors or beside an open window, wait until it is evenly glowing, then place one small piece of resin on top. Begin with less than you think you need and keep the room ventilated.
No. The grade is set by the tree, and both colours come off it. Ours grow in inland Dhofar, beyond the reach of the monsoon fog. One tree in one harvest gives pale tears and darker ones together. Some leave the tree amber; others run pale and turn amber as they age. Burn one of each on its own and you will smell it: the pale tear is brighter at the start, the amber one warmer.
Warm and settling. It opens with honeyed sweetness, then deepens into rich balsamic resin and subtle spice. The bright citrus has mellowed into something quieter.
In Oman, frankincense water is a traditional preparation. Use only resin from a pack labelled for food use. Soak one small tear overnight, strain it well and begin with a small amount. Stop if your body does not agree.
If you burn a small piece most days, a 30g pouch usually lasts about two to four weeks. With occasional use, it can last several months. Keep the resin sealed, cool and dry.
Frankincense smoke is natural and has been used in family homes for generations. For pets with sensitive lungs, especially birds, keep them in another room while burning. Use good ventilation and keep hot materials out of reach.
